Chapter Board Meets for Mid-Year Planning
The Board of Directors for the WV/OV Chapter met at the conference center in Flatwoods on Saturday, July 18, 2009. Annette Lucas, Chapter founder and past president, facilitated the meeting.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to complete the Strategic Allignment Planning and Reporting (SAPR) worksheet, required by the national PMI organization to assess the viability of all Chapters.
This is the first year PMI has required Chapters to complete the SAPR planning process. It is intended to guide Chapters in setting strategic performance goals consistent with the national PMI's overall goals in key performance areas, and tracking actual performance against those goals.
Highlights from this past year (July 2008 through June 2009):
- 3 separate PMP Examination Preparation Courses
- 2 Dinner Meeting presentations (Fairmont & Charleston)
- 7 Chapter Program Meeting presentations
- Transition of Chapter's web site to a new web portal - improved member communications
- Membership Retention rate = 63%
- Board member attendance at several National and Regional PMI events
- Board strategic planning meeting in February 2009
- Financial results show a substantial improvement, due to 3 successful PMP examp prep classes
