MS Project Essentials is a one-day hands on course that is aimed at teaching students how to use the project scheduling tool(s) to plan and control projects with and without resources using a project example.  

Topics include:

• Introduction
• Configuring preferences
• Creating a project
• Maintaining calendars
• Adding tasks
• Creating WBS (Work Breakdwon Structure)
• Formatting the schedule (bar chart, relationships, constraints and filters)
• Printing reports
• Updating schedule and baseline comparison
• Creating resources
• Assigning resources and expenses
• Updating a resourced schedule

Prerequisites:

Experience in a project environment and understanding of how projects are planned and controlled.  THis includes knowledge of the following subjects:

• Project management processes,
• How to plan a project including the development of a Work Breakdown Structure,
• Experience in the use of PCs and an understanding of the operating system.
• You will need to bring a laptop (instructions to download a free trial of MS project will be provided).

 

About the Speaker:

Seyi Kuks is a CPM scheduling consultant and Microsoft Project / Primavera P6 trainer, with over 10 years if experience providing services to entities that include:  PMI, LAUSD, LinkedIn, Disney and Intel.  He helps organizations, general contractors and subcontractors deliver their project on time, and trains their members and staff on MS Project and Primavera P6.
