Chapter Update, Fall 2009
Your Chapter's Board leadership continued to meet during the summer to plan activities for this fall. Highlights of the plan include:
-
Two separate dinner meetings, featuring special guest speakers, are scheduled for September. Kyle Schafer, West Virginia's Chief Technology Officer, will speak at Charleston's 5th Quarter Steakhouse next Thursday, September 17. Robert Kidwell, ManTech International's Enterprise Integration Center Vice President/Senior Technical Director, will present "Leadership: Myth or Reality" at Muriale's Italian Restaurant in Fairmont on Thursday, September 24. See the relevant articles posted on the web site for details; e-mail announcements will be sent shortly.
-
Speakers for the October and November Chapter meetings have been set, and announcements will be released later this month.
-
Plans for the annual election of Board members via e-mail ballot have been finalized, and announcements will follow.
-
The Chapter will be represented at this fall's PMI Leadership Conference, and at the Global Congress that meets afterwards, in Orlando, FL. in October.
-
The web site continues to evolve and grow.
Over the summer, two Board positions, one director at large and the VP of Communications, were vacated. Dale Dzielski, former Board member, agreed to complete the director at large term of office (through December 2009). Phil Loftis is serving as interim VP of Communications until this fall's election.
