May 2014 Monthly Chapter Meeting

News

All,

Please join us for our next monthly meeting, next Thursday, May 22nd at 5:30pm. The presenter and topic are as follows:

The program will feature Mr. Wade Linger, President and CEO of TMC Technologies. Wade will be speaking to the Chapter at a meeting in Fairmont (ISR Building).  He will discuss contracting challenges and opportunities in the post Byrd-Mollohan era.  Charleston folks can attend the webinar from Library Lab in the RCB Health Sciences Center on the CAMC campus.

TOPIC:

In March, 2010, Wade Linger announced the formation of TMC Technologies of West Virginia, Inc., after a five-year hiatus following the sale of the original TMC Technologies in 2005. While the company names are similar, the enterprise environmental factors (as defined in PMBOK) influencing Federal contracting companies operating in North Central West Virginia were totally different for the two companies. The loss of Senator Byrd and Congressman Mollohan affected the political climate and marketplace conditions. And, to a significant degree, organizational culture, structure, and governance had to change as a result. Mr. Linger will discuss the challenges and opportunities present in building a successful IT services start-up company in the Federal contracting sector in the post Byrd-Mollohan era.

PRESENTER BIO:

Mr. Linger has an extremely broad experience base, having worked his way up through the ranks from guarding B-52 bombers and Minute Man missiles in the Air Force to buying, growing and selling hi-tech businesses in West Virginia. Along the way, his assignments have included computer programming for Air Force and Navy software systems, opening new ManTech offices in Virginia and West Virginia, and serving as Vice President of Research for the WV High Tech Consortium Foundation. In 1996, Mr. Linger founded TMC Technologies, Inc., an IT services company supporting Federal, State and Local governments, which he later sold in 2005 after growing the company to 80 employees. In 2010, he founded a new company called TMC Technologies of West Virginia Corp., which is operating today, primarily supporting NASA and the FBI. In his "spare" time, Mr. Linger operates "Wade's Garage", a restoration shop for collectable and classic cars. He has also been an active community leader and volunteer, including Chairman of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce, member of the West Virginia University College of Engineering Advisory Council, and President of the WV State Board of Education.
