Results of WV/OV Chapter Membership Survey - Spring 2011
Results summary (note that many of the questions permited multiple responses, so percentages do not total to 100%):
1. What topics for monthly meetings are you most likely to attend?
32/34 responses indicate the "hot topics" include Project Management Knowledge Areas (71.9%), Maintaining PMI Certification (Earning PDU's -- 53.1%), Project Management Process Groups (43.8%), PMBOK Extentions (e.g., DOD, EVM, Construction -- 43.8%), and Additional PMI Certification (31.3%). PMI News was cited in 15.6% of responses, and Initial PMI Certification in 12.5% of responses.
2. What fee-based formal training do you want the Chapter to offer?
33/34 responses indicate the training topics of interest include Professional Development Day (single topic focus for one day -- 60.6%), Online Self-Study Course (48.5%), Project Management Professional(PMP)® -- 39.4%, Program Management Professional(PgMP)® -- 33.3%, Short-Courses/Seminars (2-3 days on a single topic or theme -- 24.2%), PMI Scheduling Professional(PMI-SP)® -- 15.2%, and PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® -- 12.1%, Certified Associate in Project Managment(CaPM)® -- 6.1%.
3. For fee-based training or events, what daily price do you think is appropriate?
32/34 responses indicate the desired pricing is $100 - $199/day (50.0%), $99 or less (37.5%), or $200 - $399 (31.3%).
4. What social events are you likely to attend, if offered?
30/34 responses indicate the most desired social events include Annual Dinner (Members and Guests -- 73.3%), West Virginia Power Baseball Game (Family Event - 50%), Family Picnic at Stonewall Resort (36.7%), Octoberfest (30%), Tailgating at WVU Football (26.7%), Weekend Camping/Hiking at a WV State Park (26.7%), Golf Outing (Members and Guests - 23.3%), Happy Hour (Members and Guests -- 23.3%), Bridge Day at New River Gorge (23.3%), White-water Rafting/Treetop Tour (Family Event -- 20%), Boating/Fishing Event (16.7%), State Fair Group Event (16.7%), Chili Cookoff (10%), Tailgating at Marshall Football (3.3%), Other (3.3%).
5. Where are you most likely to attend a PMI meeting or other event?
32/34 responses indicate the most desired locations for meetings include Charleston (50%), Fairmont (40.6%), Morgantown (37.5%), Bridgeport (28.1%), Parkersburg (15.6%), Huntington (9.4%), Wheeling (6.3%), Beckley (3.1%), Other (3.1%).
6. When do you prefer meetings?
34/34 responses indicate the most popular meeting times are Weekday Evenings (after work -- 82.4%), During the workday (lunch time -- 29.4%), Weekday Mornings (before work -- 14.7%), Saturday morning (11.8%), Saturday afternoon (5.9%), and Other (2.9%).
7. Would you help the Chapter undertake any of the following community service projects?
21/34 responses indicate Habitat for Humanity is the most desired potential community service project (81%), plus WV Make It Shine (Community Clean-Up in April -- 38.1%), Red Cross Blood Drive (28.6%), Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up (23.8%), and Salvation Army Bell Ringing (23.8%).
8. Describe your project management status.
32/34 responses indicate Hold PMP® Certificate (75%), Member of PMI Community (Special Interest Group -- 46.9%), Member of Another Chapter (9.4%), Other (9.4%), Member of PMI Board or Committee (6.3%), and Member of Another Project Management Organization (3.1%).
