Cancellation: If there are not at least 10 participants by close of registration, the class might be cancelled. In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be issued.

About the Instructor
Dr. Eldon Larsen, PMP
Dr. Eldon Larsen is a Professor of Engineering at Marshall University where he has taught full time since 1999 and where he coordinates the Master of Science and Engineering degree and directs the Engineering Management major. Dr. Larsen has taught graduate Engineering Management and Project Management courses since 1994 in industry and university settings. In 2018 He received Marshall University’s Dr. Charles E. Hedrick Outstanding Faculty Award, the highest faculty award recognition by the university.
Dr. Larsen worked 16 ½ years in Research and Development for Union Carbide Corporation (UCC, now part of Dow Chemical). As a result of his efforts at implementing project management for R&D, he received an individual “Chairman’s Award,” the highest award an individual could receive at UCC. He also served approximately two years on Union Carbide’s “Project Work Process Phase Integrators Team” which oversaw Union Carbide’s Engineering work process for capital projects. He has trained scientists, researchers, engineers, medical doctors, managers, and other professionals in organizations such as Holzer Clinics and Hospitals, Amazon.com, U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, Verizon, Columbia Gas, CeraMem Corp., Union Carbide Corp., NASA, and the Idaho National Laboratory. For Union Carbide he taught in multiple locations in the United States, as well as Italy and Kuwait. The main focus of his work has been to make project management flexible and practical for any type of organization, according to its needs.
Dr. Larsen received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University. He has a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Larsen is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional. Dr. Larsen has served on the national level as a Director (nine years), Second Vice Chair, First Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair of the Management Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He has served as Vice Chair (twice), Chair (twice), Member-At-Large, Past Chair (twice), and Secretary of the Charleston Section of the AIChE. He is a Fellow of the AIChE. He has served as President and CEO of the West Virginia/Ohio Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) where he earlier served for two years on the Board of Directors.
