WVOV Chapter Webex Meeting - March 2017
Topic: "Brand U" - A Self-reflection of Personal Leadership, Integrity, Positive Attitude and Cooperation
PMI Talent Triangle: Leadership
PDU: 1
Format: WebEx Meeting
Date & Time: March 16, 2017 at 6PM
Abstract: With this presentation, Dr. Timothy Glaid will challenge the audience to consider their own reputation and personal brand, which is created through each interaction with co-workers, subordinates, superiors, suppliers, customers, and strategic partners. Aligned with Kouzes & Posner’s “The Leadership Challenge” (2007), credibility, values, setting examples, trust, collaboration, recognition, and morality will be examined within one’s reputation. Additionally, Harry Dahlstrom’s 2004 book “Stop Thinking Like An Employee” will serve as a foundation for the said discussion. Leadership is not solely the position one holds within an organization. Leadership is a process that involves others and their willingness to follow the leader’s vision, direction, communications, inspiration, and motivation. It is through one’s personal brand that he or she can earn the respect, and others’ willingness to follow.
Presenter: Dr. Timothy Glaid, Dean of Academics at Eastern Gateway Community College
