Presenter:  Mike Laverty, EdD, MBA, MPM, CSSBB

Abstract:  After many years as an executive in corporate America and as an equity partner in a successful venture capital group, Dr. Laverty decided to transition his career to higher education.  In this role, he enjoys being able to share his knowledge and many lessons learned with others. He notes that–while his education from baccalaureate to doctorate was tremendously useful  as a foundation–many of his longest-lasting and most important knowledge came from his experiences as a practitioner. He recently retired as a Program Manager in municipal government.  Dr. Laverty is excited to share his experiences as a Six Sigma consultant and project leader with the members of the West Virginia/Ohio Valley Chapter of the PMI.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Laverty earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University, Six Sigma Black Belt Certification through Villanova University, and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. A devoted life-long learner, he is continuing to pursue coursework in Economics and Finance.
